Writing on AC - Associated Content

Posted by Write2Write in , ,

I stumbled across AC a few months back and have taken on a few of their C4C - calls for content (C4C are article ideas offered by the site that you can claim and write about if you don't have an idea of your own) and I have found that it is not a bad site for writers. Not the best paying place on the web for writers but it does give you the opportunity to earn a residual income on any of your articles that you submit.

You are also given the freedom if you submit an article 100% yours to choose what rights you want to assign the site Exclusive - Non-Exclusive or Display Only. For Exclusive articles you will typically (depending on the quality and length of the article) be offered a small up front payment and then be allowed to earn money from page views on the article.

You can also choose Non-Exclusive which you can still earn a small upfront payment for your article and page views but your still own the rights to the article and can choose to remove it from the site if you so chose.

The other option is Display only (DO). This method retains all your rights to the article you publish allows you to get paid for page views you can edit it anytime even after it's published (which you can't with Ex or Non Ex) but you don't get a small upfront payment.

Now unlike eHow AC is not yet so popular with the search engines so you will have to work harder to get article views.

I still recommend them if you are just starting out writing for money and even if you aren't it couldn't hurt to throw a few articles up on the site and let them sit and earn some money for you. It is actually probably one of the easier sites I have ran across.
