Online Work – Is it the way to go?

These are economically troubled times which are putting a lot of pressure on companies to find a way to save on cost. Employee’s jobs are being cut as one method in which to cut cost and more cost effective methods of filling those positions are being sought out. One of the most cost effective methods for these companies is to outsource their work to freelancers who can do the work online. This increases the potential one has if they choose online work and possess the qualities these companies are looking for.
Those who do online work are often hired on as Independent contractors and reduce the amount of money a company would have to pay to a full time onsite employee. As an independent contractor you may stumble upon this online work being advertised in papers or online classifieds such as craigslist or you can search out online work you are qualified for on sites such as Elance, ODesk and Guru.
Online work can be extremely convenient for both company and worker. As a company you can avoid such costs as insurance and hourly wages and instead pay a predetermined amount for the task at hand. As a worker you save money by not having to drive back and forth to work, no worries if you forget to pack a lunch and no money wasted fast food if you do. Not to mention if you happen to be an online work at home mom or dad you can save hundreds a month on childcare costs.

So, in my most humble of opinions, I believe that online work in our economy is definitely the way to go.
Every Friday I try to post on at least one specific aspect to working at home or online work and here in the near future I will be adding more direct and specific resources for you.
